I've personally had 18 surgeries and more blood tests than I can count. So when I get them, I barely have a reaction at all. So don't be ashamed that you still have a real, human reaction to getting blood drawn.
It just shows you haven't lost your humanity like me

I second this as a chronically sick person! I remember going to the children's hospital when I was little and having them stick me over 20 times in shifts to get an IV started. I just watched them and apologized for the terrible veins. I still apologize to phlebotomists.
