Community captioning is open so volunteers can submit translations. Incredible that people put in the work to do this! Most of my recent videos have captions in 10+ languages.

Imo Youtube should somehow monetize captioning as it's a lot of work. Great that people are willing to do it for free but maybe there should be the option to pay for that work.

At the end of the day creators benefit and profit from it as captions help expand the audience of the video, so it would be only right to pay the people that allow that to happen

That’s so great, but I wonder if it might be good to have the community donate money for captioning... it is super important and I would love if we normalized paying ppl to do it
