I’m glad we’re not the only ones who watch ContraPoints on a TV. One day I’d love to compose in 5.1 too, for both of the viewers who’d actually be able to hear it.

I'm pretty sure youtube compresses 5.1 into stereo - the surround setup test files don't work, at least. The only kind of not-stereo I get is the subwoofer playing the low frequencies, while the four satellite speakers all play exactly the same thing

(the subwoofer plays the low frequencies because it filters them out automatically, that has nothing to do with YouTube)
