I think that I actually can't be the first contact because 1) I don't draw them in with video games and 2) a lot of men in this demographic probably won't listen to a trans woman without being softened up a little first

A lot of these dudes posture as being anti gay/trans etc., but studies find those types are pretty much always hiding latent tendencies. All bets are off when someone is alone with their computer, anyways.

I know the studies you're talking about, but there's a danger in that narrative when there's a TON of anti LGBTQ violence out there perpetrated by straight homophobes. Framing it like it's repressed queer on out queer violence isn't constructive.
