Doing meetups or university events I meet a lot of 18-24 yo men who tell me they used to be libertarians/conservatives/Alt-Light. I always ask them what led them to start questioning. Possibly the #1 answer? @Hbomberguy

Gamer YouTube is where boys that age get their political ideas (explains a lot doesn't it). So while I never would have guessed it would be of vital importance to have a YouTube leftist who talks about video games, it turns out to be of vital importance.

funny for me, it was becoming an atheist that made me a leftist, plus the realization that the reason a lot of African countries are failing is because of Capitalism and Libertarian policies.

Same with the atheism bit. Questioning my religion led me to question a lot of other beliefs that had been instilled in me. Unfortunately it also led me to my edgy high-school atheist phase.

Hbomb was actually my turning point as well (as a 19/20 yo woman) from his Sherlock video, I was actually scared to watch some of his content because I didn’t want my ideas to be challenges but I’m glad I did now
