Yeah, if it's real that dad is DEEPLY and intensely flawed, crying to some 13 year old girl who just went through something extremely traumatic??? Terrible behavior

Yeah, that was my response, too. He's correctly identified his son's problems, but handled exactly NONE of them well.

I guess I shouldn't be shocked at how many responses are internet detectives. Whether it's all true or not doesn't really matter, take it as a grim cautionary tale. Things like this do happen. Rushing out to deny things doesn't help anything, and nobody likes a know-it-all.

There's a bunch of comments with people saying they know someone like that.

Would be thankful if it is, but would not be surprised if it isn’t.

I sprouted three succulents. Two of them sprouted beautifully. All of them under the same paper towel on the same windowsill. One of them just shriveled and died while the other two grew. It happens. It can’t be helped sometimes.

This is true. My half brother is an extremely selfish, awful person who has been arrested for beating his significant other at least once, but I don't think it's my dad's fault. He made mistakes, but both he and, later on, my mom tried to get him the help he needed.

All the people claiming fake seem to be entirely missing the point.

Honestly the people saying ‘this can’t be fake because I know someone like that’ are missing the point. Obviously people like this exist, just the details and narrative are all over the place.
