I wonder if @ContraPoints will ever really engage with the crit of her last two latest videos. It’s kinda very disheartening that she couldn’t engage with anyone who felt she was off the mark but would rather retweet constant praise and tbh it comes off very callous.

Alyson’s Medium piece I think sums up a lot of feelings people have been having and for me if Natalie finds it easier to engage with alt right weirdos than listen to good faith crit from people on the left that’s a issue. https://medium.com/@alysonescalante/how-contrapoints-misunderstands-gender-bd833cc6d8c8 …

I absolutely don’t think Natalie is a bad person at all, but ignoring critical left voices doesn’t help anyone.

I don’t engage with criticism on Twitter because it’s a toxic and abusive community where real conversation is impossible. This is essentially a brand account for that reason. But I do read and think about criticism I receive.

That’s great you look at it, but do you engage with the people and let them know they have been heard or are you just keeping it to yourself because I’ve seen responses from NB and Trans people and they feel that you haven’t heard them at all.

I don't engage on Twitter anymore. It would be good to try this on some other forum. I've had critics (
@gwen_no_fear last year for instance) on for live streams and that's worked pretty well. I really am interested and happy to talk about this stuff but I just can't do it here.1 reply 1 retweet 15 likes -

While I agree twitter isn’t great it’s also not the only place you’ve gotten responses. I’ve seen YT video responses like from @radian2pi and now
@Alysonesque Medium piece and like I said it’s cool you look but I think letting said critical people you heard them would help.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes
I read @Alysonesque's piece yesterday. I don't agree with her criticism of my pragmatism about gender but I do agree that I have neglected in my videos so far to speak much about the origins of gender, and gender as a class. I do intend to address that in an upcoming vid!
