Pro-torture, pro-militarism, anti-democracy, dehumanization of women, homosexuals, and ethnic minorities—it's not "polarizing" "offensive" "divisive"—it's fascism. Brazil elected a fascist.https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1056719793586343939 …

And another scary thing about him: the poor voted 98% against him, the rich 97% for him. Civil war seems inevitable.https://twitter.com/Estadao/status/1056860697160609792?s=19 …

Brazilian here, I genuinely don't belive he thinks he's a fascist, and I personally don't really like to call him a fascist, but a lot of his believes and talking points overlap with fascism. So I don't judge people who call him so

Much of modern journalism is so obsessed with being "unbiased" in their reporting that they ironically sacrifice honesty in the process. This level of spinelessness in how we got Trump.

You're not wrong, but I sure wish you were. No one wants to get fired or sued for libel. Similar to using "alleged" when talking about a mass shooter pre-conviction. These words fend off yellow journalism. If/when we change them, it's gonna be an awkward puberty, but worth it.

We cannot let them work in shadows. We need to ensure they are seen and that they know they are be seen. We need to ensure they are remembered and that they know they will be remembered. We need to stand up for our brothers, sisters and other siblings and be seen to stand up.
