What’s specifically at stake. A lot of cis people say “it’s not denying your existence, it’s just calling you your biological gender.” They don’t get why it’s dangerous.

Can result in dangerous difficulties in legal situations - particularly when law enforcement has to make decisions based on what they see, and when what they see conflicts with legal documentation.
