Needless to say, this is very bad. Our healthcare and all protection against discrimination depends on the legal recognition of us as individuals and as a group.

You couldn't be more wrong. Transgender people need coucilling and therapy, not positive reinforcement because statistics show that it does not help. Getting rid of the idea that transgender is something you should be proud of or even be in general is a necessary evil

i feel a fool, having said to a UK pal that IC clinics were the ONE way American healthcare was superior. that said, what scares me most is these people setting a precedent of being able to force US citizens into taking DNA tests. i shudder to think what they'd use that for....
