I feel like I'm from an entirely different era of trans history as people even just five years younger than me. In grade school, college, post-grad not once was anyone asked for their pronouns. The word "transgender" was not mentioned in my health education.

It's pretty strange, really, since the age difference is like, not much wider than senior-freshman. But it's a world of difference. Things are definitely better now. And mind-blowing to think this happened in less than a decade.

I'm with you. So happy to hear the conversation in the air that it's hard to take it personally when the participants at any trans event I've ever been to immediately take me for a 'creepy old man's.

I'm ten years older than you, and the generational gap is definitely real. And then come the Gen Z trans, and the opportunities they have to transition and grow, well, I couldn't have dreamed of it when I was their age.

Growing up in the 80s, you had no internet, no support groups. If you were a kid that expressed girly tendencies, you were called a f***** and that was that. I didn't even know "transgender" was a word until 2005.
