What happens every time I drag someone on Twitter (until yesterday the last one was what, Arielle back in April?) is I waste an entire day on it and then am left with this emotional hangover, feeling I've accomplished nothing but igniting waves of anger and pain.

I know there will come a time where I'm accused of failing to be a good representative. And I guess I need to prepare myself for that so I'm mentally ready to handle it correctly.

In the meantime idk I guess my plan is to ease into a kind of generic yas-queening around on Twitter, and in my videos experiment with expressing some of my views in the voice of COMPLETELY FICTIONAL CHARACTERS.

I don't think the pressure to present a unified opinion is a healthy sign in the community, and I appreciate it when people decide to talk frankly about the ways in which your experience doesn't fit general conceptions of the trans experience. at the same time, it's one to be -

appreciative when you talk about stuff like that and another to feel betrayed if you don't. tbh the fact that you've been navigating through all of this while already having a following is daunting beyond what I can imagine, and whatever you need to do for your health is ok.

I think part of the problem with wanting deep, open, and frank discussions about this is so few cis people are actually willing to do the same in good faith Most aren't listening and are just trying to win an arguement

Sometimes it takes more then one point of contact to change someone's mind. They might not be ready for it this time, but it willl help open them up for next time. Cultural change requires time and patience, and this movement moves much faster then past ones of it's kind.

No, for the good of the community, please do not keep this shit to yourself. It is good thing that you are heterodox. People need to see that the trans community is not a monolithic cult. As you said yesterday, every 3 trans people have 4 opinions.

Heck no. I don't have a fraction of your platform but I also feel the pressures of the orthodox activist role. There is a need for it to be subverted to make discourse functional again. If we're only ever repeating purist rhetoric at each other we get fucking nowhere.

+1 to this. i still don’t know where that public/private line is, but i’m going to keep fucking up until i figure it out and trying to forgive others for the same as i hope they’d do for me.
