Among transphobic LGBs (and the right-wing divide-and-conquer strategists who incite them) there’s this “drop the T” idea that’s justified by claiming that since being trans is not a sexual orientation, LGB(T) is not a “natural community.” The opposite is true.
If “natural” means what occurs organically, then the natural communities are these: 1 Gay cis men, gay trans men, trans women who remain in their gay male social group 2 Cis lesbians, trans lesbians, trans men who remain in their lesbian social group
These are the communities that already exist. Both are much more “natural” than the L and G grouping, which is often largely a matter of political utility. At least, that’s my experience.
Also, people think that the T is out of place because it’s gender not sexuality, but originally gender and sexuality were INSEPARABLY connected. If you were a man attracted to men, that was seen as a defect in your maleness, and in wlws’s femaleness.
Because part of the definition of “man” was “attracted to women” some queer men thought of themselves as a different gender BECAUSE they were attracted to men (there was a whole group of folks, including Oscar Wilde, who called themselves “Uranians” to connote a third gender)

The T of lgbt was a major component during the Stonewall Riots during the late 1960s to 1970s.
I can't think of anything more right wing than 'punch a TERF'.
