I can’t stand to watch even ten seconds of my old videos because gender dysphoria. So I’m now in the weird situation that my fans know my backlog better than I do.

Maybe this gives zero solace to you, but as a cis man with basically no exposure to trans people, the process of you understanding your identity through your videos was eye-opening and transformative for me.

*no exposure that you know of

Your old videos are still good but at this point they kinda feel like they were made by somebody else. Maybe they technically were?

The self is an illusion. Your tweets from yesterday were made by someone else.

I noticed a cis man comment below about how your journey had been really eye opening for him to watch. As a cis woman I'll say the same. I watched you really help a friend through both iding as genderqueer then as trans. Seeing you now and going back and enjoying your old content

... has really helped me get past some of my internal prejudices about what gender is. I see you as a woman becoming now, even when you were "self-evidently" a man. I hope none of this is insensitive or disrespectful. It has helped me really internalize the idea of gender as not

You used to be a child, but that changed too. You just went through an additional stage of growing up.

You're allowed to have complex feelings. It sucks that your past is waaaaaay more preserved and evident than for a lot of us, but you've done extremely good work over the years that would be sad to lose for a variety of reasons. *hugs offered*

I'll (belatedly) add that you don't owe the rest of us jack shit: if the healthiest thing for you is to take down those videos, then take 'em down. The material in them can always be represented in some updated manner.

I want to say, as a somewhat recent viewer, that watching your older vids and seeing you start to better understand yourself is what finally allowed me to realize myself. It was the hand that flicked the switch in my brain that re-contextualized and brought back feelings...

...that I had as a child but repressed in fear of ridicule. That being said, I totally understand how you feel about your old stuff, and I would probably feel the same. I just wanted to let you know how important they were too me.
