It's civility toward the strong and incivility toward the weak. It's veneration of the powerful, that is: authoritarianism. All the "anti-PC" rhetoric, "the right to be offensive"—it's just smokescreen for downtreading the downtrodden and coddling the rulers.

It really shows how conservatives feel about marginalized people. They can be treated with brutal cruelty, and that's just normal civil politics, because to them, those aren't real people. But the smallest slight to someone in power is uncivilized, because it's against realpeople
