It's civility toward the strong and incivility toward the weak. It's veneration of the powerful, that is: authoritarianism. All the "anti-PC" rhetoric, "the right to be offensive"—it's just smokescreen for downtreading the downtrodden and coddling the rulers.

Just wearing my "Fuck Your Feelings" shirt, sipping on some Leftist Tears, begging for civility.

Many conservatives feel that way. A minority (like me) have been screaming for decency for awhile, now. It's why I refused to ever use the words SJW, cuck, snowflake, etc. If we can't treat each other like humans, then what's the point? It's why I've become somewhat disengaged.
-
Hearing SJW used unironically makes me cringe these days. The only people still using it when addressing ideas brought up by left/right leaning folks are the same people that can’t separate Internet noise from IRL shit. You did good disengaging, Colin.

Hannah Arendt always used to say right wing extremism and macho pomposity is always inherently comic.

Also have to say, mad props for fighting back against this in an accessible and fun way. We need more left(ish) intellectuals and activists like yourself these days. Stay fabulous.

When is something going to be done about the rampant hypocrisy happening on the right? I've been pondering this myself--why don't we have a formal process to combat hypocrisy? Shame and honor used to accomplish this but it seems there isn't enough self awareness for this...
-
The modern GOP is a fusion of two groups: People who love money, and people who love a book that says love of money the root of all evil. How can it be anything but hypocritical?

I'm one who does try to push (gently) for civility among my fellow lefties, but it is worth remembering from time to time that the Right *started* the culture war *on purpose* as a smokescreen for their patently harmful economic policies.
-
That's actually *why* I try to promote civility; not because the bullies deserve it, but because the culture war is THEIR weapon and using it benefits them more than it does us.
