I should begin every shitty twitter convo about the "I won't date trans people because [transphobic claim]" issue with the following disclaimers: 1 I am a subby, bottomy kind of girl. I like to entice/encourage pursuit but I fundamentally prefer to be pursued

2 the only people who have rejected me for being trans are men on tinder, and I stopped responding to all of them instantly

3 I'm pretty pansexual and open to dating cis women, but that's not usually who I'm interested in these days

4 If someone were to reject me on the basis that "I'm not into trans women" I would instantly lose interest (see point 1)

5 I have never had this conversation with a person who has rejected me. It is only a conversation I have in public with people who have announced "I won't date a trans people because [transphobic claim]"

6 Gay men are just as shitty about this wrt trans men as cis lesbians often are wrt trans women, and trans men are just as indignant about it as trans women—

however, cishets only care about the trans women version because it lets them pretend to care about lesbians long enough to use "defending lesbian sexuality" as a cover for implying trans women are sexual predators

7 Making transphobic claims in public is not okay (ok, it's *allowed* because free speech, but it's morally and intellectually bad you edgy snowflake). Using the framing "I won't date trans people because [transphobic claim]" is very clever, well done, but it's just as bad.
