Content accessibility is not all about screen readers and alt text. We need to understand our audiences – all of them – if we are going to build an inclusive web.   That, and only that, is accessibility.

One way to test content is to try to speed-read it. If you try to read every word quickly, how easily can the text be understood? You can paste different text in this app to see how readily you can absorb the content

Waitress: I’m so sorry I messed up your order. These tiny buttons for cheeseburger and cheese pizza are right next to each other and the labels are cut off and ... Me (interrupts): IT’S NEVER THE USERS FAULT! The labels should be clear and easy to hit and ... DH: Sigh

Talking about design systems as something apart from content strategy is setting us back *years*—how can a product team choose appropriate components without clearly understanding content requirements (and the "why" behind them)?

So happy that our company understands the importance of content and content strategy in design systems. The problem is that I'm all new to this and still learning along the way. A worthwhile challenge but an arduous one too! 😅

We’re currently creating the very first design system for my company. And we’re all first-timers in design system creation 😅 What other content guidelines we can include? I never thought about this before!!

I love the mindful content and visual design of Headspace so much. One of my favorite microcopy work too! What’s your favorite app in terms of design? I’d love to check out more for inspiration. ☺️ But first, sleep! Good night. 😴🌙

Love these four components of users that just shared on his webinar, being user-centred with content. ⭐️ Identity - who they are ⭐️ Behaviour- what they do ⭐️ Mindset - How they think ⭐️ Needs - What drives them

When asking disabled customers: 'Is there anything you would like to do online that you currently are unable to do?' get these responses a lot: 'Pay bills, shop, banking' 'Book appointment at my gp surgery' 'Vote in Local Council and General Elections'

Hi! Thinking of giving a talk or a workshop about content design to non-designers. What would be a good topic to start it off?

Make content clear and understandable, to open the web up for users with different literacy levels and access challenges.   1. Choose easy words not formal, long ones. 2. Jargon is unlikely to be clear language. 3. Write conversationally, in first person, using the active voice.
