Jesus, the sock puppets and trolls are back again. You report a few and a bunch of new ones just pop right back up. The Republicans are manipulating this recall just like the did the 2016 election.pic.twitter.com/yIJvax5n1E

Seeyew Mo 巫世友 🌊 @mo4goodReplying to @BrandonHaramiI condemn Twitter bots and misinformation campaign. As someone involved in ‘16, it pissed me off to no end. Let’s use@Botometer to check if those are bots. Also, so we know if petition stealing or other interference is a one off event yet? I haven’t see any updates1 reply 0 retweets 1 like -
@vcbatman What's the methodology? Can you share the data. I wonder if we'll see similar patterns for other politicians too. I am against bots!2 replies 0 retweets 3 likes -

There is some terminology that needs to be clear here, generally what I call a bot is actually a sock puppet. A sock puppet is a fake account, usually a bunch of them are controlled by a person. They may or may not be automated. A troll is a person who has engaged in harassment.

The "data" so to speak is actually a score from a machine learning algorithm from a peer reviewed publication out of a major university. Basically I score each reply and stick it in a bucket: troll, bot, or human.

Using your definitions, what distinguishes a troll from a human?
