We're freezing fuel duty again – for the ninth year in a row – putting money in the pockets of hard-working people. #PMQspic.twitter.com/UIGKNoAHF4

Instead of freezing fuel duty why not reduce it? That would be more helpful, thanks

How many of the really poor can afford a car? Does food ever go down even if transport costs reduce?

Please see the @IPCC_CH report published at the beginning of this week as to why this is a bad idea. BTW, the very poorest people cannot afford cars.

It doesn’t put money in people’s pockets because it’s money they never had. Any rise for many would mean having to cut expenditure elsewhere. Putting money in people’s pockets would mean actually giving them something or reducing costs not deciding not to increase costs.

Freeze public transport costs, not fuel duty. Civilised countries provide public transport and aim to unclog their roads, reduce air pollution, fossil fuel consumption and global warming.

You mean you're not taking more money out of people's pockets. Plus, not sure what the "hard working" has to do with anything in this context. I've never been to a garage that checked whether you were a skiver or a grafter before choosing the duty rate. #spin

This is unhelpful in the fight against Global Warming. Reducing the cost of prescriptions would give a more appropriate boost to the poor in the UK.

They are free in Wales so how would we benefit from that money? Or would it all go to England?

Oh, I didn't know they were free in Wales. What about, a reduction in business rates to help local shopkeepers? Or just more spending on the NHS, if the Gov is keen on a giveaway?

Business rates would just help business owners. Unlikely they'd pass savings on to customers. I'm not sure where the best place to put it to benefit Wales but BHS could always do with an increase in funding which would benefit rich and poor alike

Just think how strong the economy could have been if you hadn't sold off all the public utilities to your rich mates for them to reap the rewards instead of the profits being reinvested in public services

'Any chance' you can get the #FreshLookAtConservatives to stop cutting 40% to councils then perhaps you can get your bins emptied and you're lucky to get a weekly service, we live in a Tory area and our bins are emptied every 2 weeks.

Councils should manage with what they're given and if they can't manage or raise capital then they need to be removed from the council.

It's already too high. It needs to be lowered for hard working people & haulage firms. We have been too tolerant of a shocking PM & Establishment who care nothing about our great country. Change is coming. Change is NOW #BrexitBetrayal
