    If the plans for Girona-Barça are as Cope reported (no Catalan symbolism allowed, Spanish national anthem played, 40,000 Spanish flags handed out) and the league does try to push that idea through, then I imagine reasonable chance Girona and Barça (try to) refuse to go.

    This. Those "sabatoging" and writing anonymous columns are not in opposition. They are collaborators. This is how all collaborators rationalize. If you believed this and you weren't a coward, you would invoke the 25th Amendment.

    If you’ve ever seen the masterpiece documentary The Sorrow and the Pity, this oped is a kind of real-time version of the kind of complicit, mawkish, sometimes comical special-pleading was the centerpiece of the movie.

    Golden goal is better than penalties so instead of away goals we should have draws decided by first team scoring wins, infinite time, every 10 minutes each team loses a player (order of which is pre-determined by the manager).

    He was born in D.C. and his mother did teach at D.C. Public Schools, but yeah, he lived in Bethesda. Not exactly known for any violent crime.

    Brett Kavanaugh just said he "grew up in a city plagued by gun violence, and gang violence, and drug violence." Brett Kavanaugh is from Bethesda, Maryland, and went to Georgetown Prep for high school. (h/t )
