This is so evil, man. This is what happens when the language of mental health gets co-opted, now you can kill someone and portray it as a way to raise awareness for mental illness. This is incredible sick. twitter.com/phil_lewis_/st…

"We made this world a safer place,” the CDC director said...who presided over 700,000 deaths while continuously , prematurely, and purposefully rolling back things that would have lowered the level of death. The nerve of this people, it's only abt them.

What happens when your adopted child finds out they're adopted ⬇️ *they question who they are. *they wonder where they came from. *they wonder why they were relinquished. *they think about their biological mother. *they wonder about their biological father.

“The worst thing any country could do now is to ... let down its guard, to dismantle the systems it has built, or to send the message to its people that Covid-19 is nothing to worry about” @DrTedros Yet @WHO has declared #COVID19 is no longer a global health emergency 1/2

I am 100% for Treatment Not Trauma, and it’s essential we insist that what needs to be treated isn’t always—or even the majority of the time—“mental illness” but rather poverty, homelessness, isolation, and hunger. Psychiatric treatment should be a second-order consideration.

We need to stop relying on librarians, transit workers, and others with their own FT jobs to cobble together mental health services. We need to invest in care that is informed by the needs of the community. We need to recognize autonomy includes making choices you don't like.
