Catholic kids aren't supposed to fast until age 18, and they're exempt from meatless Fridays until age 14.
Oh I’m only talking kids from like 9-10 upwards (at least the people I know). See, I thought it sounded weird because people who fast regularly already have this knowledge. I’m starting to think it might be a personal one as opposed to anything else tbh.
Srsly, every religion I’ve had knowledge of have exemptions for children and the elderly for fasting. Because those people need to eat.
Yeah, but I didn’t wanna make any broad statements without considering that there’s a lot of stuff I don’t know about the world, you know? Gotta check my wild ego before anything else lol
I was wondering about this. Bc I was saying kids don't truly understand the spiritual purpose of a fast & can't appreciate the depth of it. They do it bc they know it's what good (insert religious title) do. But then I thought of how disciplined Muslims are and I was wondering.TY
Oh, we’re not any more disciplined than anyone else lol kids just wanna do what they see grownups doing. They tend to get so preoccupied with feeling excited they don’t even realise how quickly the “half day” went lol
exactly what in thinking, literally what “belief” because thanksgiving isn’t even a real holiday
I was thinking the same thing. We don’t let children fast! They need to eat.
I'm sorry but I giggled so hard when I read they fall for it every time
