Well, in tht case I've to wait until '19 for a party that either promises to repeal Aadhar Act or make tough privacy laws. (Or leave India!)

And hope it doesn't U-turn. Or simply wait until 2024. But I cannot have a better check and balance system?

I should allow govt more powers to make it govern better. Agreed. But why give unchecked powers?

If my Aadhar is leaked/misused, UIDAI (and not me) has the right to file a court case. UIDAI has the right to be heard, not me. Why?

And after so many external leaks, what action has UIDAI initiated? Or can it selectively choose if it wants to initiate action?

Please look at the RTI Act as well when looking at the leaks. Those depts are mandated to release beneficiary lists to the public.

Awesome I will file an RTI with UIDAI to release all the biometrics data. there is no clause in RTI which promotes publishing personal info.

Every govt dept has been publishing it for years till you decided to call it a leak. Either everyone is misreading the act, or you are.
