I don’t think censorial authoritarians who thing they inhabit some moral high ground are in the business of hearing the other side out anyways. You’ve all prove it again and again with advocating for policies such as the one in question.

This is a private company addressing misconduct. They can get rid of someone being offensive and have it not be about censorship. The guy can literally take down the offensive merch, and apologize, but we dont even expect that anymore.

You’re naive if you think this is how shallow this argument goes. Take it from Kyle Kulinski.https://youtu.be/3v1t62htoBY

You dont get tell people what to not be offended about when you've got a guy using offensive language. Make your political opinions without stooping to that level.

I’m not telling u what u should and shouldn’t be offended about. Im saying that your offense does not justify censoring someone. Unless direct calls to violence are made, people should be allowed to speak. You set a bad precedence when offense is the threshold for censorship.

So I'm guessing you were on Alex Jones' side. His offensive language literally resulted in death threats to Sandy Hook parents.

This isn’t about being on a “side”. It’s about setting a precedent. These social media companies are the new town squares. I think direct calls to violence, libel, and slander should be the only things that should bring about revoked privilges on these platforms.

I'm assuming you're not a minority in any way.

Being a minority doesn’t equate to competency or the strength of an argument.

It provides perspective though. "Violence, libel, or slander" seems like the bare minimum. Your perspective has never experienced the small microaggressions and casual belittling of language, which over the course of a lifetime cause just as much damage as violence could.

So who decides what a legitimate grievance is? Is criticizing the tenets of a religion the same as bigotry towards adherents? Anyone can claim their sensitivities have been violated as a pretense for censorship.
