I recognize the struggle of all. Our issues are much deeper than one halftime show and it shouldn’t be looked at in isolation. We can celebrate our cultural icons performing on a national stage and continue to fight for justice. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Dang the one time we finally have someone other than a white male/female artist and you have to go and make it about racism within our own community. Thanks for trying to take the joy out of it.

We have bigger problems than the Superbowl when it comes to the Anti-Black racism in the Latin community. We need to start with Afro Latinos accepting themselves. I run in far too many that have intense internalized racism. :(

what about the afro-latinas Shakira brought from her hometown on stage to dance and hired to choreograph Afro-colombian dances, the messages about the children detained, or sending the message that we are all american even if we are different. they used that space to stand up

solidarity comes with the message you sent out. It can be through action or a lack of ( in the case of cardi-B)
