Astronauts have personal skin in the game, and there’s no shortage of them. Same for commercial fisherman. And firefighters. And fighter pilots. And deep sea commercial divers. I’m willing to gamble SCOTUS is wrong that prosecutors alone would all quit if they had to do likewise.

I’m pretty comfortable with how I perform in my role, so I’m not terribly threatened by the concept of being asked to account for my actions. That said, I’m not wild about the idea of being forced to defend myself against false allegations of wrongdoing.

In hear ya. I started off doing med mal—defended plenty of docs against bogus lawsuits. Also had cases where I told the insurer they should expect to cut a big fat check. We’re all human, and we all screw up. We should all be personally accountable to those we hurt when we do.

They fight and scratch like hell when they are exposed and called out by other attorneys. It's really ugly. They're gutless and many are politically connected. Get cover and a walk. I too think it's time for reassessment and accountability.
