As a freelancer, it's important to remember things like answering emails, discord messages, replying to YouTube comments, posting on other socials: this is all work. You don't always get to do the creative stuff, but that doesn't mean you're being any less productive.

just got done going through my expenses and income as a freelancer for taxes. 1) it feels good to have that done and now I just need to upkeep it 2) these numbers have upset me, but it's all part of the process 3) gonna make hot chocolate as a reward

Close you are to cracking it,* it being the sound. Silly mistake there.

In #sounddesign, how long do you typically pursue an idea before moving on? It's difficult, cause you never know how close you are to cracking, but sometimes you try a different source sound and it just works. Probably cause you just spent X amount of time beforehand right?

Any ad that starts with a freaking AIRHORN is on my shit list.

The Cynthia jump scare in B/W One of the most fear inducing moments in Pokémon straight up. Pokémon needs to bring back chaotic encounters like this. This shook me to my core in back in Gen 5.
