Just my personal experience, but most of my affluent friends dislike police (mostly on principle) & most of my more working class friends have good opinions of police (mostly on lived experience). I don't have much interaction with the police. The one I had left a bad taste. I challenged him in court and he lied and the judge believed him. You could be in the right but there is no way you'd win in court because the system is designed to give them deference.
