That article completely ignores fair dealing/use clauses though. Playing a cover of a song is not inherently copyright infringement unless you're using that cover for the purpose of sale, unlicensed redistribution, profit, or advertising in most countries with copyright laws.

Uploading to YouTube means you are taking part in unlicensed redistribution, profit (monetization) and advertising (channel promotion).

Advertising specifically refers to monitized promotion of a product or service, not any type of publicity. If you're going to argue legal terms, you might want to look up what they actually mean since you don't seem to understand what actually qualifies as copyright infringement
