Coldhands

Bomb warrior, murloc shaman, bomb hunter, token druid, OTK paladin. Don't really get much higher than 50% vs mage in my experience if they are on the radar of the mage. But also, preparing for every deck is impossible. However, we missed Rogue, Rogue seems more rough for mage.

Did you test Midrange Hunter of the kind @Bunnyhoppor has been rank 1 on both EU and NA with recently? I feel that it's a favourite in the matchup, and with Hunter's Mark from sideboard it becomes even moreso. I was surprised it wasn't more common last week.

Ya the list we tested was pretty similar. We had 2x Deadly and 2x Wingblast. So probably too much removal to be optimal. It felt okay vs mage. But the mage was winning about as much as it was losing. We had @deathstaV3 playing against @G2Rdu.

Surprising to me but cool to hear, I'll be interested to see if Mage really is uncounterable. Reminds me of Razakus as much as Patron Warrior in terms of being this deck which flits between tiers 1 and 2 in ladder stats but is considered the slam dunk best by pros

It's not uncounterable just play murloc shaman or a more aggressive hunter build, won't get any better after the buffs either.

How much testing have you done on those match ups?

The data backs it up and that's a lot more useful than any personal testing I could do, judging by VS those matchups haven't become more favourable for the mage over time

Isn't the whole point of this that with optimal play and different builds those decks don't have those match up spreads?
