  1. Manchin say he won't vote to end filibuster, pans using reconciliation again Remember when ⁦⁩’s daughter got mega-rich effing over ordinary folks by jacking cost of EpiPen? Seems the road apple didn’t fall far from the horse’s ass.

It’s been over 5 months since the election and Republicans still have no proof of significant voting fraud. I support the ancient legal principle of “putius upius or shutious upious,” which for those who aren’t in the legal profession translates into “sh*t or get off the pot.”

In the spirit of compromise, how about Democrats agree not to contest Republican efforts to suppress minority voters and in return Republicans agree that every Republican vote counts as 3/5s of a vote?

There was a time not too long ago when the one on the right would hiss at the one on the left if she got within 5 feet. Now they’ll share a spot of sunlight together. You’d think if people got to know one another they could too.

. says a vacant lot 500’ from me is worth as much as my lot and house. I sent Zillow the tax appraisal and comps on my street, but they use mobile homes 15 miles away instead. When I said their Zestimate sucks their response was “yes, it sucks” (or words to that effect).

Last year, when the insurer tried to sue filed against him for $820K in attorneys’ fees, he said he “faces a shortened life expectancy, reduced job prospects, and a lifetime of pain and disability.” “Reduced job prospects” — so became a congressman.

It's a balance of doing zoning reform and building new housing while preventing steep slope development. Density is good. Don't want more housing? Then you want Asheville to be exclusively for rich people. Want affordable housing? Build more.

We're still renting almost six years after moving to AVL because we didn't want to have to move 30 miles out to find real estate comparable to the prices we left in central Ohio. For workers, it's a real problem.

Getting ‘priced out of the market’ This problem is getting worse. Last month, a house in a friend’s neighborhood in Asheville sold for over $800 sq. ft. It’s a delicate balance between attracting newcomers and not squeezing Ashevillians out.
