Why couldn't the human biological brain be replaced by a silicon version with more capabilities as long as it had the same input and output connections?
I think the key problem with silicone is that it's immutable, unlike the human - biological mushy stuff - brain. OK the code running on the silicon could change, but the I/O interfaces & connections (circuits) cannot - unlike the brain.
