It's actually a combination of both. Firstly, all of my uses fall under fair use, so for my sort of commentary and criticism use of short clips is allowed. 2nd, some of the claims are on short clips with brief sound effects and music, which is being claimed by copyright trolls.

(1/2) For the 1st group, using any amount of content you don't own (even a few seconds) puts you at risk for a claim/takedown. You have the right to argue Fair Use, but only courts (not YouTube) can decide if it's protected under Fair Use. More info here: https://yt.be/help/claims-FAQ

(2/2) For the 2nd group, can you DM us some examples of videos with brief sound effects/music where you think the claims are abusive? We’ll pass them onto our copyright team to take a look.

Sorry to tag in here, but as long as
@YTCreators is in the mood for figuring things out, would you also be able to figure out why I am still in review for monetization? I will have been in review for 1 year at the end of this month.3 replies 2 retweets 78 likes -

No shit, right? You know, you put a lot of effort into something and it just is disheartening to be done this way. No answers, nothing.
