You should then clearly explain why such criticism is "ill-informed and counterproductive". Otherwise your statement is 1. Unhelpful 2. Ill-informed and 3. Counterproductive too.

I felt some sort of threatening in the word "counter-productive". How can criticism be counter-productive? Does that mean: "Don't criticize me like that, otherwise we will give worse decisions against you"? What a pity for a body that should protect human rights!

The ECHR must base itself on the rule of law. The Convention says that the Court can only handle cases after all national legal remedies have been exhausted. And that states have to abide by its rulings (although they sometimes don’t like to and call its rulings into question).
