A lot of work, huge collaboration & a world first. Scotland has a Bill to be proud of that locks in the progress we have made to tackle period dignity. Congrats to for leading the Bill & to all the activists and others who’ve done so much to make it happen💪

After 14 years, my time as MSP has come to an end. It has been such a privilege & I am forever grateful to the folk of #Clydesdale for letting me be their representative. Good luck to all candidates. For now, looking forward to adventures ahead & just being called Aileen

Last night driving home I listened to the wonderful on the radio-she mentioned that in Iceland they have a day where they switch off the street lights so folk can see the sky and then broadcast on the radio a lecture about the stars. I thought that sounded marvelous

Yesterday was a tough day for my office following the horrible attack on it. What has been amazing has been the incredible messages of support-too many to respond directly to. That’s the thing to remember - good and kind folk outnumber the haters. Thank you a’body 🥰💛💛

I had hoped the government would cancel ‘significant’ birthdays during 2020 (the First Minister has one this year too😜) My favourite thing on this birthday has been my eldest laddie’s gift of a poem with a little help from dad-a real keepsake! Love to everyone during lockdown! X

Emotional call from as she says ‘Let’s keep going, try to keep smiling, keep hoping & keep looking out for each other...be strong and be kind’ we are at a really tough time-there’s more to be done to get Covid under control and it needs us all to work together💖

Overheard discussion between father & 9 yo son: Dad: ‘in your ideal world, what would you want to do today?’ Son: ‘watch saints play football’. Dad: ‘ok. What in your COVID world do you want to do?’. Son: ‘play social-distancing rounders?!’ 😂 -message is being heard

My husband cut my son’s hair last night. He did the youngest one’s the previous night which was a success...he’s now trying to convince the eldest that his cut is quite ‘cool’ by showing him clips of Tim Burgess from the charlatans. Not really working. #bowlcut 😂

So tonight we hold hands sing ‘auld Lang syne’ and about ‘cups of kindness’ - yet the tone and narrative around desperate folk seeking sanctuary is as far away from kindness as you get. This needs to change.

Solidarity with . A heartbreaking decision to have to sever ties with the club she gave a lifetime of love and support. A reminder to all women that offers help and support for those that need it.

I have this morning ended my lifelong support of @RaithRovers over their signing of the rapist David Goodwillie. I have cancelled next season’s shirt sponsorship over this disgusting and despicable move. This shatters any claim to be a community or family club. 1/2

It’s unacceptable for players to face online abuse. All of our players from all of our clubs are warriors on the pitch - they don’t need the criticism from ‘brave’ keyboard warriors. Let’s keep sport fun, respectful and safe. That’s the way we grow the game.
Quote
Some shocking and disgusting comments being made on social media since the @RangersWFC game about some of our players. Our players do a fantastic job and dont deserve that sort of abuse, they work hard and deserve nothing but respect. #WeAreWarriors

This is outrageous and cruel -this is not the Scotland I want. We need to call out hate and celebrate diversity. Sabir’s dignified response is so typical of a man who contributes so much to our country, and we stand in solidarity with him. #lovenothate #standuptoracism #callitout
Quote
If this scrooge who spoiled our #Christmas by scratching this racist slur over our car had instead knocked our door we'd have invited them in for a chat over #Scottish mince pies and #Afghan tea. Hatred can't solve our problems, only love can. #LoveNotHate #StandUpToRacism

We are blessed to have such wonderful local outdoor space, but until the restrictions we took it all for granted. Now we look at our hills differently-a place to explore, a new challenge for little leggies, and even better, sometimes no mobile reception! #snaiphill #unthankhill

While a welcome pause, there is a need to establish a system ensuring nobody ends up homeless or destitute in a place they’ve sought refuge. Discussions will be ongoing with the Home Office to focus on a full, fair and permanent resolution with dignity at its heart.
Quote
I welcome the confirmation from @SercoGroup that they will pause asylum seeker evictions for the time being. This follows constructive discussions between @GlasgowCC & Home Office yesterday. These discussions will continue until a satisfactory long term resolution is in place.

Just used FB messenger for a blether with my folks...as they sat together on the couch, i mostly seemed to speak to my mum’s left ear, my dad’s right ear with a terrific view of the Wally dugs sitting on the sideboard up the centre. They’ll get the hang of the angles one day!!😂

My #indyref experience was filled with optimism (& being pregnant, swollen ankles too!). I chapped many doors and folk were overwhelmingly engaged and enthused. Independence is the chance to determine our own future & strive for a better one. It’s still exciting. I’m #StillYes

My (not so) wee boy is 10 today. TEN!!! How did that happen? Feels about right that this wee boy who follows all the public health updates, figures, knows FACTS back to front has a birthday at the same time as the vaccines start! 😊

Spoiled by the boys this Mother’s Day! A three course meal being prepped by head-chef Angus (choice of pudding influenced by the biscuits in the cupboard🤣🙈) & a painting from Crawf ‘mum, I have made you a Picasso painting!’ 😂 Wishing you all a grand day during tough times💐

The ‘game-changing’ Scottish child Payment & this increase will make a huge difference to families. Imagine how much more we could do if we had all the powers of independence - without having to continually mop up the messes of another Gov? Why be content with mitigation?
Quote
🗳 The Scottish Child Payment - introduced by ⁦@theSNP⁩ - has been described as a ‘gamechanger’ in the fight against child poverty. Today, I’ll set out plans - if re-elected - to double it from £10 per week for each eligible child to £20 per week dailyrecord.co.uk/news/politics/

Pleased to express messages of solidarity to our friends in the Sikh community after the horrific attack on their Gudwara. Despite the trauma, it was good to hear about the valued &appreciated community response of kindness &love. Love, not hate must be the hallmark of Scotland

A positive first step. Now the club will be keen to repair relationships and rebuild trust. Let’s use this as a turning point to drive positive change, including giving our women’s and girls’ teams the encouragement and respect they deserve.

Walking provided such comfort & solace during the early stages of lockdown. For me, it helped create a new rhythm to my day, a chance for me, Fraser &the bairns to be together, chat & take more notice of our surroundings. It’s remained important. I’m pleased to see this campaign
