A quick look at the next-gen SteamVR Knuckles in use! #VRpic.twitter.com/0HJGhrYimZ

How is the wobbliness that I talked with them during SteamDD? Is it less shaky when settling after a fast movement? I hope they fixed that.
-
how many "steps" are there per finger between "open" and "closed" or is it just binary?
-
Not binary; it's a gradient distance.
-
what's the resolution? maybe 6 steps with smoothing? or higher?
-
That's a Valve question, but it's far more than 6. At least 20, maybe upwards of 50.
-
thanks guys, you're doing the Lord's work! <3

So they actually track finger position as well?
-
Fingers are tracked on a gradient based on the distance from the controller.
-
Steam pics imply actual tracking is finger contact as it wraps around & inferring pose from that rather than sensing at distance. Confirm?
-
Finger contact is calibration to set the gradient. The tracking itself is something akin to near field sensing.
