@CloudFlare is it possible to PAUSE CloudFlare for a domain via the API? I only see the option for Development Mode.

LE needs to see the verification cert, so you need to temporarily grey-cloud / pause CF. Or use --webroot HTTP validation

pausing CF and stopping nginx to let the built in server test it seems to be far more reliable for me
