There was a recount but we were still short sadly.
Woking was just 10 votes away from ending Conservative control of the Council. If we had received 10 more votes to gain Goldsworth Park the Council would be in no overall control.

Though to be fair Lib Dem’s only won St Johns by 56 votes, margins can be tight when turnouts are low

Yes there were several tight contests. Lib Dem’s won in Mount Hermon by 17 votes.

Elmbridge results have been declared for Long Ditton, which has been HELD by the Lib Dems by just 8 votes. Swings and roundabouts Cllr.

Yep certainly is. Seems to be a lot of narrow victories in these elections.

Yes you had to have Photo ID to vote in Woking.

The requirement for voter ID, especially for those who can’t afford the extortionate cost of a passport or don’t have access to other ID must surely have prevented many from voting. I find that discriminatory and disgraceful

There was an option to get a Voter ID card free from the Council but we know some people without ID didn't want to go through the process to do that and so lost their vote.
