Excited about our conversation today 1pm PDT w/ famed human rights lawyer Undoubtedly one of the true heroes of 9/11 & the many tragically wrongheaded policies it spurred

My reflections on 20 years of Guantanamo Bay: Is it any surprise that Columbus, when he visited on April 30, 1494, left the next morning recognising it was a bit of a hellhole, not el Dorado at all,

A little piece I have today in the Al Jazeera Media mag on how secrecy may be the biggest threat of post-9/11 world. "Sunshine is the greatest disinfectant when it comes to the corruption of government. Conversely, secrecy is the refuge of scoundrels":

My take on 9/11 & the tragic folly of the policies the US (UK & others) followed in its wake,

Worth a read: The Mauritanian (Mohammedou Slahi) on how Guantanamo prisoners aspired to 'Equal Rights with Iguanas' (that had rights) in the prison. Glad he is out; 7 of my clients still are not,

Shame that the last test in such a series is cancelled, but it's "not cricket" to suggest India should forfeit (for having Covid?) ... after all nobody is said to have "forfeited" their health for it

As the prison lingers, the unresolved legacy of 9/11 is the human remains (39 prisoners). Biden says he “intends” to shutter the symbol of , injustice and oppression. When?

Bridport Police Desperate for Crime: now they are calling on councils to keep an eye out for "rowdy people", "stray dogs", "setting off late night fireworks" etc in order to give local law enforcement something to do...

More big news in Bridport: the coastguard checked the cliff and found no danger to anyone

Good piece by on Guantanamo, yet it is hard to believe the Republicans will ever allow Gitmo to be closed & detainees to come to US courts...
