Ashamed that I'd never heard of this until Watchmen on HBO. The more I read, the sicker it becomes. Our country has to deal with all of our atrocities before we can move on.

What many people don’t know is that the “race riots” in 1920’s America were white people attacking black neighborhoods. The whites were the instigators and the ones rioting.

Here is an account of the East St. Louis race riots of 1917. Yes, started by whites. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/East_St._Louis_riots …

Fun fact: no reparations have ever been paid to anyone for the crimes committed in June of 1921.
-
Not only were no reparations paid, insurance claims weren't paid either.

Have you read Dreamland Burning? Because of that book, I researched this atrocity in our country's history. By calling it a riot and not a massacre, the government was able to get away with not paying the victims for the destruction and killing.

I recently learned about this evil thanks to
@watchmen and Im still horrified. Education is important, we all need to learn about the evils of our past so we never recreate them. We must understand inhumanity if we are to reaffirm our own humanity@BerniceKing@escapedmatrix@HRC -
