Keep the class warfare going and they can stoke all the racist, xenophobic rhetoric to fan the flames that keep them in power. Been the same grift in this country since it was founded.
I'll keep saying it, keeping millions of ppl in poverty is a choice this country makes every day. There is enough money for ppl not to be evicted from their homes, there is enough for ppl not to go hungry, there is enough for ppl to avoid jail bc of a parking ticket. It's absurd.

The goal is to keep people desperate enough to work a job (or 2 /3) @ the minimum cost doing damage to their bodies, psyche etc. and then shaming them for needing/wanting help. It is also helpful to call these jobs unskilled or low skilled to keep the pay low too.

Capitalism by definition requires poverty.

It requires winner and losers, but poverty is a choice the people, through their government, make. We can raise the floor of standard of living without ditching capitalism all together.

One challenge that I see surrounds perspective. Many folks who have money simply don't see this side of the coin. It's easy to be frustrated by this, harder to teach and help shift views. We will only see real change(sadly enough) when this segment of the population understand.

The people with the money understand fully, they just don't give a damn. The issue is one of perceived superiority, not lack of understanding.

I’m having this exact argument with a friend. He says if we didn’t have capitalism he wouldn’t work so hard. He thinks if people are given things and have equal rights in that respect then people wouldn’t work so hard
