Answering Alsup's climate questions. Can we crowd source the best responses? http://www.realclimate.org/index.php/archives/2018/03/alsup-asks-for-answers/ … @AndrewDessler @RealClimate

Gavin, besides answering Alsup's specific questions, you should also answer any he should have asked to make sure a complete view of climate science is presented, anticipating what will be at issue in the trial. The current set of Q&A don't do that for me.

To be clear, I have no role in this case and no insight into what he, the plaintiffs or the defendants will consider the 'issues'.

This is a good idea. That said, I’m sure the lawyers have scientific advisers; do we have any idea who they are?

Quick question. Was asked why the Eemian was so much warmer than Holocene. Can you please explain? Thanks.

Milankovich cycles, orbital parameters were different than in current interglacial. Global mean of Eemian int. was about the same as current but northern hemisphere was warmer, greenland ice sheet had a pronounced minimum therefore sea level was high

Eemian 2.0C+ warmer than current. Orbital parameters has been explored, not convincing according to Astro. Greenland ice sheet 90%+ melted, agreed.

        (2) it is also to be expected that this is pronounced on the NH which is in perfect accordance with observations. Besides Shepard you are boring, you repeatedly said you accept AGW theory but appreciate the outcome, still you continue posting denialist crap. We are done here.

Yes, we are done. The Astro scientists disagree with what you wrote, that is why I ask the question. I am looking for an answer.

I would love to see the Milankovitz cycle up to today in context with the “hockey stick” chart of the last post ice age record. I suspect that it would show that we were heading into the next ice age, not still coming out of the last one.

Staying out of the next ice age is nice, but we clearly don’t need to overdo it.
