Let the other guy have it your way.
One of the ironies of a successful campaign to avoid worst case scenarios is always that the people who fought every effort will claim afterwards that there was never any need for any action. That is both predictable and false. But it will be a small price to pay.

Yes. In the end there is a truth that things are changing, and that we need to change to prevent more change. No amount of arguing will avoid that. But they will repeat the revisionist 'narrative' of the Club of Rome report, acid rain, Ozone hole. 'Narratives' are a pest.

Exactly. The idea of 1.5°C rise over two centuries being a limit that'll maintain what we deem normal is madness. Our aquatic biomes aren't thriving as they were a century ago and globalized human infrastructure cannot handle environment disruption driven by AGW that easily.

This happens a lot. The anti-regulation people say they, usually environmentalists, were wrong when they predicted a doomsday. It’s a clever but incredibly dishonest bit of rhetoric. What was said was if nothing is done, bad things will happen.

You miss the point. The ozone problem was easily solved, forcing substitution by regulation as it turned out. The SO2 problem also solved with a market solution and existing technology that added minor costs. No-one knows how to decarbonise global industry. Big difference.
