        Its much to warm for an none to weak nino conditions year, i think nxt strong el nino, record from 2016 will be beaten by a large gap

        There was a period of several years of La Niñas that suppressed the global average surface temp. Perhaps new data analysis has revised that. Of course, there was no time when global warming itself went on hiatus.
