With latest update from @NASAGISS, 2018 is almost guaranteed to be the 4th warmest year in the record, and likely to be (~76%) the 4th year in a row more than 1ºC above the late 19th Century. (1ºC = 1.8ºF ~ ¼ of an ice age unit)pic.twitter.com/Kl8lCFVVjA

1ºC = 1.8ºF ~ ¼ of an ice age unit. Nice unit. This is the first time I've seen it used. Did I miss it before, or is this the first time??

Is there anywhere that regularly publishes a plot like this for terrestrial temperatures? It just strikes me that (a) terra is where people live/experience these changes and (b) the signal is bigger (2x, right?).

As you know, @climateofgavin, I care a lot about oceans and climate, but most legislators I know and work with care about the climate - really the weather - where their voters live.

I'm not one to boast (well...), but I managed to get the ice age comparison into a ministerial speech today at the SR launch in London. I think this may be my greatest ever achievement.

Even it were, you don’t have a snowballs chance in Hades, of proving that CO2 is the cause.
