24/ Ignatius speculated on possible violation of Logan Act - a ludicrous conceit concocted by Sally Yates. Ignatius' mention of Logan Act is thus slight (but only slight) pointer towards DOJ or FBI origin of leak.

Just asking but wouldn't any conversation with a Russian govt official be picked up by US surveillance as a matter of course? And, as a National Security professional, wouldn't Flynn have known and expected his conversations with Russians would be recorded by US?
-
Flynn assumed that he had been recorded. Much in incident doesn't make sense.

Hats off to you for the analysis. I don't know how you have the mental capacity to keep this all straight!

I suspected from day 1. Leaking of surveillance against Russian ambassador is serious. I suspected they were monitoring Flynn and were just playing games with Russians to make them search for surveillance. Note Nunes memo says 4 investigations in summer, redaction fits Flynn.

We know there was baiting to create Russia-Trump collusion narrative as far back as Mifsud's dangle to Popadopoulos. No question the Obama sanctions were priming for Trump damage control outreach. Questn: Was Russia IC aware? Cooperating?
-
we don't KNOW that Mifsud made a dangle to Papadopoulos. In such murky waters, one has to take care as to what we KNOW for sure and what is speculation. I don't exclude possibility that Mifsud was hyping public (Napolitano) info or that Papadop's account distorted.
-
We know more than that. For instance, we know that Pap himself told CNN Tapper that he thought Mifsud was just gossiping about known rumors. We know that Pap didnt pass info to Trump HQ which fits with known rumors narrative. We also know that Pap is a serial embellisher/liar.
