    That’s not how politics (or human psychology) in Trumpland work. Senate Republicans blocked witnesses and documents because the House Managers have *too* compelling a case. The more testimony and evidence America sees, the worse for Trump and the senators covering for him.

    Maybe the Senate didn’t vote for witnesses because the Dems didn’t present a compelling enough case. Yet, we’re going to be lectured on the “fundamental unfairness” of it, something that happens whenever the Dems don’t get their way, whether it’s 2016 or now. Kind of annoying.

    This is pretty compelling. Anyone with the relevant expertise able to explain why it’s either is a bad idea or can’t happen?

    If Chuck Schumer has the right to put forward amendments, and if the Senate has to debate those amendments, why couldn't he put forward 3 amendments to force the recusal of those 3 GOP jurors who are witnesses in the case? In argument, the managers could establish their conflict.

    This is just shocking. Alexander openly saying Trump did it. That the House proved its case. He just doesn't care.

    I worked with other senators to make sure that we have the right to ask for more documents and witnesses, but there is no need for more evidence to prove something that has already been proven and that does not meet the U.S. Constitution’s high bar for an impeachable offense.1/15

    this is an absolute bombshell. Trump literally asked Parnas how long Ukraine could "last in a fight with Russia" without US aid while discussing sacking Yovanovitch.
