Anyone who says thinks it's a good idea stand outside a primary school next week at 7:15 and then imagine what it would be like with young kids running about and cars dropping children off as that is how dark it would be if we didn't do GMT .

I seem to recall that the final straw was a car ploughing into people waiting at a bus stop. The months'-long dark not so bad for office workers starting at 9, but for us manual workers starting at 7 or 8am it was purgatory. Life was cold and miserable enough.

Similar issue in the uk electrical industry which is forced to match European phase http://colours.uk easy to distinguish red yellow blue and black changed to brown black grey and blue.
