@danielpunkass Hey Daniel. Got Fireballed today which was my last straw with WordPress. Are there any static blogs that work with MarsEdit?

@ClarkGoble FWIW my WP sites have survived many (grateful!) fireballs, always with the help of a WP caching plugin.

@danielpunkass I have one installed but I still have a weird condition were a process goes out of control. Happens every few weeks.

@ClarkGoble That sucks. I would be inclined to blame your host, but if you are going static this might help: http://www.red-sweater.com/blog/1825/baking-blogs-with-marsedit …

@danielpunkass I think if I had straight html fragments with categories in the header I could make a conversion to a static blog.

@ClarkGoble The support is fairly rudimentary but this should give you some ideas! See the part about "Blosxom": http://www.red-sweater.com/blog/1825/baking-blogs-with-marsedit …

@danielpunkass Thanks. I’m actually going to first see if the MarsEdit Jekyll interface works with Hyde.http://bit.ly/1aKbfyI

@danielpunkass If it works I’ll do a blog writeup on it. Was pretty annoyed the WP cache didn’t work. (Quick Cache)

@ClarkGoble Essentially caching a WP site makes it as resilient to fireballing as any static site.

@ClarkGoble If you aren’t running W3 Total Cache yet, I would strongly encourage you to try that before giving up on WordPress.

@ClarkGoble Most static blogs are a hack to get working with MarsEdit. Curious if you have experimented with caching on WP?

@ClarkGoble Have you tried the Super Cache plug-in?

@mjtsai I can’t remember which one I was using. It’s crashing as soon as I reboot. So I suspect it’ll be a day to get it back up.

@ClarkGoble I use Hyper Cache, and it's held up pretty well under a couple of Fireballings.

@drdrang I think there may be something else going on. I just need to switch hosts if nothing else. But my friend has the DNS.
